About you: To support our growth, we’re looking for a Chef de Cuisine for our cafes in the Bay Area. As a Chef de Cuisine you will be supporting the Food program’s vision to inspire and enable the world to make more sustainable food choices and food experiences. Reporting to the Regional Chef de Cuisine, you will be leveraging and executing our culinary message to our partners and the key stakeholders. You will be responsible for the culinary quality, innovation and delivery. Furthermore, you will be motivating, training and developing the members of team to deliver delicious, nutritious food and exceptional customer service. Besides the operational tasks, you will also be taking care of administrative tasks, such as financial management, sanitation and safety.

The great things you’ll do:

  • Executing operational tasks: You will be designing, managing and creating the daily food experience

  • Exceeding expectations: While following all menu and production guides as well as opening/ closing checklists, you will be performing your daily tasks and create well balanced meals

  • Training: You will be developing and mentoring your team members

  • Report: You will conduct employee reviews, coaching sessions and disciplinary actions in a professional and timely manner

  • Food safety: You will be promoting and implementing food and workplace safety

  • Customer service: You will be leading by example when treating and communicating with clients to create engaging hospitality expectations

  • Sustainability: You will ensure that all products and ingredients which are being purchased meet the company standards and support sustainability

  • Collaborating: You will be working with different departments ensuring a smooth process and supporting the growth of the company

What we look for in the perfect candidate:

  • Degree from post secondary culinary arts training program

  • Two years in a professional kitchen or bakery in similar position including volume and food service quality

  • Strong passion for hospitality and quality food preparation and taste

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure and motivate team

  • Experience using G-Suites

  • Hospitality knowledge and interest in sustainability and sustainable food practices

  • Managing time effectively and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines

  • Knowledge of health and safety standards

  • Demonstrating good judgement and decision making skills and taking in on responsibility

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment and using technology to improve work flow

  • Ability to manage a team effectively and delegating tasks accordingly leading to a team displaying high level of energy and commitment to the organization

  • Demonstrating diversity by listening to others and valuing their contributions

  • Knowing importance of confidentiality
